Have you ever considered what your higher self looks like or how it might perceive your current self? If so, this article is for you. With the energy from this week's full moon and lunar eclipse, I found myself thinking: what if my higher self is watching me from the future, and what if the version of me in the present is my laziest self? While this may sound like an unconventional thought, is it really so far-fetched?
For those of us seeking more from life but unwilling to spend our days in jobs that leave us burnt out and joyless, a higher version of ourselves exists to remind us to work smarter, not harder; to earn money without letting it define us; and to achieve success on our own terms. As we navigate Virgo season, which teaches us about the pitfalls of self-criticism and rigidity, the full moon in Pisces encourages us to dream big and simply exist.
Sometimes, the hardest part of creating something meaningful is allowing ourselves to go with the flow and let things progress at their own pace. Our dreams can be so vivid that they wake us in the middle of the night, leaving us sweating and crying as if they were real. Yet, just as easily, our positive thoughts and desires can manifest into reality.
If you dream of being more confident, writing a book, or starting a business, envision another version of yourself achieving those goals. Embrace that energy and let it resonate within you. What is that version capable of doing and how does it compare to your current self? Is your current version lacking dedication, sleep deprived, fearful, jealous...? What would your higher self say about that?
Your higher self is the version of you that could be in a different frequency, waiting for you to choose its path. It's waiting for you to put in the work to match its vibration.
Activity:
Take a piece of paper and fold it in half. On one side, write "Shadow Self," and on the other, "Higher Self." Under "Higher Self," list the traits you want to embody, the goals you wish to achieve, and your desires. On the opposite side, under "Shadow Self," jot down the traits that hold you back, the things you no longer want in your life, and anything that prevents you from living your ideal lifestyle. Read both sides aloud and place the paper somewhere you'll see it every day. This exercise can help you connect with the energy of your higher self while reminding you of what you want to leave behind.
